Santa Cruz County Regional Transportation Planning (RTP)
The Commission's chosen program of projects for the Watsonville-to-UCSC corridor includes: HOT-Bus Lanes for Hwy 1; improved Bus Service with Bus Rapid Transit; improved bicycle and pedestrian facilities including a county-long trail along the UP Right-of-Way (with purchase of the ROW); bulk purchase-discounts of electric bicycles; and repair of local roads.

- Nisene2Sea Open Space Alliance a Santa Cruz "community action group dedicated to protecting the open space corridor that connects The Forest of Nisene Marks State Park to New Brighton Beach State Park." "The end point of the walkway/bikeway we propose will be on New Brighton State Beach lands and will exit within a short distance (several hundred feet) of the Union Pacific railroad right-of-way as it passes through New Brighton State Beach lands just south of Capitola in mid Santa Crux County."

- Santa Cruz Streets, Jeff Waller -- provides his Santa Cruz County Transportation Plan as "an alternative to the MTIS results". The plan addresses Highway 1 Widening, Commuter Express Buses, Regional Bus Service, Regional Shuttle Service, and County-wide Light Rail.
