Mineta International Institute for Surface Transportation Policies Studies or IISTPS) — created by Congress under the '91 ISTEA bill as 1 of 6 University Transportation Institutes, conducts policy-oriented research, available to all levels of government and the private sector, to foster the development of optimum surface transportation systems and, via their educational program, encourages students of diverse socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds to seek careers in the development and operation of surface transportation programs.
  • Partners for Advanced Transit and Highways (PATH) — the world's largest bibliographic database pertaining to Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). PATH's mission: applying advanced technology to increase highway capacity and safety, and to reduce traffic congestion, air pollution, and energy consumption.
  • TrafficLinq — "an extensive directory of links covering issues regarding road traffic and transportation. The site is aimed at traffic and transportation professionals."
  • The TransAct Library disseminates information about transportation, the environment and communities. It is part of the Transportation Action Network site, which is sponsored by the Surface Transportation Policy Project (STPP), a transportation reform advocacy group, whose goal is "to ensure that transportation policy and investments help conserve energy, protect environmental and aesthetic quality, strengthen the economy, promote social equity, and make communities more livable.
